OUR ORIGIN STORY
SDM: A Legacy of Wildlife Advocacy
Founded in South Texas, SDM (Shark Diver Magazine) made its debut in March 2003. It was created as a passion project by Shark Divers for Shark Divers.
Over an 8-year span, we proudly produced 25 issues of SDM, dedicated to showcasing the fascinating world of sharks and marine life.
From its inception, our mission was to give sharks a voice and promote their critical role in our ocean's ecosystems, along with their significance to people and local communities through eco-tourism initiatives.
As time went on, we broadened our horizons to include a diverse array of wildlife stories, featuring not only sharks but also whales, crocodiles, marlin, and more.
However, as technology advanced and social media emerged as a powerful storytelling platform, we recognized the need to adapt.
Sadly, in 2012, we released the last issue of SDM, as the pace of today's social platforms surpassed the production of a quarterly magazine.
Though the magazine may no longer grace the stands, our dedication to wildlife advocacy remains unwavering.
We continue to be at the forefront of championing the cause of sharks and other wildlife through various mediums.
Our wildlife expeditions, TV programs, blogs, vlogs, school presentations, and vibrant social media pages serve as platforms to share compelling stories, raise awareness about overfishing threats, and highlight the conservation efforts undertaken to protect these magnificent creatures.
While SDM may be a part of our history, we still have a treasure trove of original copies available for those who wish to relive our journey. If you'd like to own a piece of our legacy, we have a limited supply of the authentic Shark Diver Magazine waiting for you.
To stay connected with the dedicated team behind SDM, visit our wildlife expeditions website, where we continue to chart new adventures and advocate for the conservation of our planet's precious wildlife.
Thank you for being a part of our journey, and we look forward to continuing this wild ride with you!
Sincerely,
Eli Martinez
